How long do outdoor wayfinding signs last?
Pannier wayfinding signs are built to last 10 or more years in outdoor environments. We use Fiberglass Embedment and Gel Coat Laminate construction, materials specifically engineered for long-term UV and weather resistance. Our panels are backed by a warranty covering fading and delamination.
Can you match our existing sign system or brand colors?
Yes. Pannier offers precise color matching for organizations that need new signs to integrate with an existing wayfinding program or match municipal or institutional brand standards. Provide your color specifications and we will match them.
Do you handle both design and fabrication?
Yes. Pannier has an in-house design team that develops sign graphics from scratch or works from client-supplied artwork. Design and fabrication happen under one roof, which keeps projects streamlined and eliminates the coordination issues that come with working through multiple vendors.
What materials are best for outdoor wayfinding signage?
For most outdoor wayfinding applications, Pannier recommends Fiberglass Embedment (FE) for its one-piece construction and low maintenance, or Gel Coat Laminate (GCL) for applications where a refined finish and maximum UV protection are priorities. Your project rep will help you choose based on your environment and budget.
Can Pannier make wayfinding signs for indoor environments?
Yes. While Pannier has deep experience in outdoor signage, we produce wayfinding signs for both interior and exterior applications. The same materials that perform in outdoor environments are equally well-suited to high-traffic indoor spaces like healthcare facilities, museums, and transit terminals.
What types of wayfinding signs does Pannier manufacture?
We manufacture directional signs, trail markers, map panels, kiosk signage, pedestrian wayfinding signs, mounted and wall-mounted directional signs, and full custom wayfinding sign families. We also produce the frames, posts, and mounting hardware for most sign types.
What is the difference between a wayfinding system and individual directional signs?
A directional sign tells someone where to go from a specific point. A wayfinding system is the coordinated set of signs throughout an environment that guides someone from arrival to their destination. For larger projects, Pannier can produce complete sign families with consistent materials, colors, and branding so all signs read as part of the same system.
How do I start a wayfinding signage project with Pannier?
Fill out our project inquiry form with your basic project details, including the number of signs, your environment, and any deadline requirements. A project rep will reach out to walk through the specifics with you.
How long does a custom wayfinding signage order typically take?
Panel production takes approximately 4 weeks. Frames and mounting hardware take 6 to 8 weeks depending on the time of year. If your project has a specific deadline, let us know at the start of the process and we will work backward from that date.
Do you make both the sign panels and the mounting hardware?
Yes. Pannier manufactures both the sign face and the frame or mounting system. Every sign ships with the hardware needed to mount the panel to its posts. We can also fabricate custom structural components like baseplates and mounting plates when the project requires them.
Can you create a cohesive wayfinding sign family for a large campus or trail system?
Yes. For multi-sign projects, Pannier can develop a complete sign family with consistent materials, colors, typography, and mounting systems throughout. This is common for trail systems, large parks, transit facilities, and campus environments where visual consistency across all signs matters.
What is the minimum order quantity for custom wayfinding signs?
There is no minimum order required. Pannier works with clients on everything from a single sign to large multi-sign system orders.
