For this initiative, our team manufactured 25 Frameless Cantilevered exhibits designed to withstand the elements while providing a sleek, modern look. To maximize engagement and deliver a wealth of educational content without crowding the main display, each exhibit features five interactive, hinged flip pages. These heavy-duty flip pages allow visitors to physically interact with the sign, diving deeper into the surrounding ecosystem right from the trail.
While we are incredibly proud of the craftsmanship that went into these 25 specialized exhibits, the signage itself is just a small reminder of the incredible, large-scale environmental work being completed by H2Ohio. Across the state, massive engineering and conservation efforts are actively transforming landscapes, restoring lost ecosystems, and implementing long-term solutions to safeguard Ohio's water. These signs serve as a localized gateway, giving visitors a brief look into the monumental statewide projects happening right beyond the text.
The main panel content guides visitors through the critical mission of these landscapes:
What is H2Ohio? Initiated in 2019 by Governor Mike DeWine, H2Ohio is a comprehensive plan to improve water quality throughout Ohio.
Why Wetlands? Wetlands act as natural filters that hold and clean large amounts of water. They help reduce harmful algal blooms to keep our water clean and safe.
Ohio's Wetland Heritage: Wetlands were once common in many areas of Ohio. Northwestern Ohio was once home to the Great Black Swamp that covered an area about the size of Rhode Island. Indigenous peoples hunted and fished this region for thousands of years. Once European settlers arrived, they drained wetlands for farming and to harvest timber.
We were honored to complete these signs for H2Ohio and partner with ODNR on this meaningful project. By combining durable craftsmanship with interactive design, these exhibits will help educate and inspire visitors to appreciate the vital role wetlands play in keeping Ohio's water clean and safe for generations to come.
